Train Wreck!
Occasionally, there are train de-railings along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks along Hwy 50 out by us. This one happened 11/27 due supposedly to a broken wheel on one of the cars. I've never seen a wreck up close - this was my first & it was a doozy! No one was injured as this was just a train hauling coal. I believe there were 31 train cars that were mangled or banged up as a result. Crazy!!

Bear's Virtues...
So Bear had an assignment in his video class. It was to make a short video from a selection of topics. Bear chose "Virtues" as his topic. I think he did a GREAT job! :)

Hot Fun in the Summer...
Today I went out to check on the horses... & get a little riding in. :) It started out@ 70 degrees when I left the house - & ended up close to 90! All the horses got their treats... Sandman & I went for a short little ride. Very short. lol He decided he didn't want to leave the comfort of the herd - so we had a little go around for a bit. After I decided we were both stubborn, I hopped out of the saddle & took him by the lead rope & we walked... & walked. The only way he could return to the herd was when I was good & ready to take him back. So needless to say, we both got our exercise in the hot sun! lol
And apparently, since running around with the horses in the blazing September sunshine wasn't hot enough... I came home & made these tasty little morsels - Butter Toffee cookies. Yum! Wish my hubby were here to devour them like he always does with my cookies...

County vs Centennial
Here's some photos of Bear's first game - Pueblo County vs Centennial. Bear's jersey is #1... (we're green) - however, his away game jersey was #3. :) The coaches had tossed in a handful of jerseys for the boys to pick out... well, Bear tried to get both #3 jerseys - but there was only the home game one. So he grabbed the #1 jersey for the away games. Since his last practice though, he was able to find the other #3 jersey - so he is now officially #3, whether he's playing at home or away. By the way... we won this game!

| Hunter's first football game - we went to support the Fightin' Irish! |
Bear's first year as a P.C.H.S. freshman football player is in full swing! He spent part of his summer in football training to get ready for "big boy" football. His first game was against Centennial... We won! Go HORNETS! Second game was close but we lost to Pueblo West's Cyclones. Our nephew, Hunter, plays for a rec team called the Fighting Irish... So we have two Green & Gold teams to cheer this year!
